PAC May 2026
May is here and the weather is warm, so let’s “spring” into
action with the PAC. Please see the following updates and highlights for the
month of May:
Pool Project- The pool project is nearing completion.
Tilers are expected to arrive this week, and once their work is finished, we
will provide specific details regarding the PAC reopening. I truly appreciate
your patience as we work to get this mission-essential project completed
Life Fitness Refresh- The equipment order has been placed, and a
full refresh of the Cardio room is scheduled for mid-to-late June 2026. Current
machines will be replaced with updated, state-of-the-art models, including
ellipticals, treadmills, and stair climbers. Additionally, the Mark Center and
Taylor Building will each receive a new stair climbing machine. In the interim,
the PAC is coordinating with Life Fitness to ensure current machines remain
operational while we await the new delivery.
Bikes- The PAC bicycles are tuned and ready for use.
I invite you to sign one out for a ride around the DC area. We provide both
men’s and women’s bicycles, as well as safety vests and helmets for your
protection and safety.
PAC
Facility Etiquette- As we approach the summer months and facility usage
increases, I would like to share a friendly reminder regarding common
courtesies that should be extended to your fellow patrons to ensure a positive
environment for everyone.
Sauna and Steam rooms- The sauna and steam rooms are
designed for relaxation and recovery. To allow others to enjoy the areas please
refrain from the following as they are unsanitary as well as a potential safety
hazard:
- Do not dry your clothes
on the sauna rocks it is a fire hazard.
- Do not bring any
cellular or any kind of electronic devices into the areas due the high
humidity and heat
- Pleas refrain from
working out/wearing workout shoes in the rooms.
- Do not shave in the
rooms.
- If you use a towel in
the room do not wring them out in the rooms. Place the towel into the bin
adjacent to the entrance and get a new one if needed.
Locker Rooms-
Daily-use lockers are intended for single-day
use only. If a daily locker is used overnight, a notice will be posted before
the lock is cut and items are removed. Additionally, please keep benches clear
for member seating by utilizing the daily lockers for bags and other personal
belongings.
Weight
Area-
While many members utilize various pieces of
equipment, please refrain from placing phones, CACs, or clothing on machines to
imply they are reserved. If equipment is vacant for any amount of time, it is
available for use by another member. Furthermore, if you need to check your
mobile device, please step away from the machine to allow others to cycle
through their sets.
It is an excellent time to be at the PAC, and we ask that you remain
considerate of your fellow members to ensure a positive experience for
everyone. We look forward to seeing you soon!
